In the wake of the election, as we process the results and implications for our country and communities, we have experienced a range of emotions. We have all felt sadness, fear, and anger. And we have also felt a sense of hope – hope for the critical work that you and others are doing to achieve greater equity and justice.

We are deeply grateful for your work to build movements to advance equity and justice for those most marginalized and most affected by the hateful policies a Trump presidency threatens. We believe that the power of social movements and grassroots mobilization will be our greatest asset in cultivating the positive change our country needs: to combat racism, homophobia, xenophobia, and other forms of hatred.

We stand with you. We are, more than ever before, committed to social justice and supporting organizations that are working every day to create a more progressive and inclusive vision for our country.

We are inspired by the words of our friends at Public Advocates:

We commit ourselves to forging with you a new path forward – a path towards a truly participatory and multi-cultural democracy where prosperity is shared; a path toward an inclusive society that cherishes all of us, no matter our gender, who we love, who we pray to, or where we were born; a society that puts the interest of the public first, starting with the most vulnerable; a democracy that places decision-making power in the hands of the people not the highest bidder; a country that manages its natural resources equitably and sustainably for the benefit of future generations and all living beings.

We want to offer what we can to support your work and the movements you are building. Some ways we may be able to help:

  • A meeting space at our office: Our office is located in the Mission District of San Francisco, two blocks from the 16th Street BART station. Our conference room and individual meeting rooms can be available for community gatherings and meetings. If you are interested in using LFA’s space, please contact our Office Manager, Alana Harrington at or 415-529-3603.
  • Meeting facilitation services: We bring experience facilitating small and large groups, and helping organizations manage change processes and develop strategy. While we have limited capacity to offer these services pro-bono, we want to do whatever we can to ensure that those organizations and communities most in need have support to engage in these kinds of processes. If you have a need for such services, please contact Jill Connaway at or 415-529-3611.

We are extremely grateful for the work that you do, and we are so proud to be able to stand by your side.

In solidarity,

The LFA team
