Graphic Design Lead, Research Specialist

Annie.Lindsey@learningforaction.com

By marrying the two areas of design and quantitative data together into her new role as Graphic Design Lead & Research Specialist at Learning for Action, Annie has the exciting opportunity to bridge the gap that exists between data and how we visually report out to the field on action-oriented results. By consciously thinking about design philosophies and how people can best understand data, she plans to push make products more understandable and visually appealing for all audiences in order to accelerate learning and reflection in service of justice and equity.

One of Annie’s standout strengths is her ability to make data beautiful and accessible. She designs reports, infographics, executive summaries, presentation decks, and other deliverables that turn dense data into digestible, engaging content for stakeholders of all types—from board members and funders to community members. Her thoughtful, user-centered design approach makes information easier to understand and act upon, accelerating learning and driving impact.

With more than 12 years of experience in quantitative analysis, Annie is skilled in SPSS, a statistical software platform used for data analysis and statistical testing. She enjoys the challenge of detailed data management and analysis and finds it both engaging and rewarding—especially when it leads to uncovering insights about what the data reveals. She leads data deep-dives and facilitates reflection sessions to help clients translate numbers into action. Annie is known for building data confidence and capacity among clients and LFA staff alike—helping people not only understand their data but get excited about it. She’s led the data side of LFA engagements with clients including but not limited to The MacArthur Foundation, The Center for Effective Philanthropy, The Schusterman Fellowship, California Court Appointed Special Advocates, and The Mindful Life Project.

Prior to joining LFA, Annie worked at Shared Intelligence, a London-based economic development consultancy and KIPP SF Bay Academy. She interned at Ebenezer Howard’s Town and Country Planning Association, The San Francisco Housing Action Coalition, and Asian Neighborhood Design.

Annie was born and raised in the East Bay. She enjoys exploring California by motorcycle, rooting for the 49ers, attending to her large collection of succulents, and relaxing in Santa Cruz.
