Jack Chin brings over thirty years of experience in the nonprofit and philanthropic sectors to his practice. He has extensive working knowledge of grantmaking, strategy and organizational development, evaluation planning, formative evaluation, collaborative learning, and board governance. Jack believes in the power of groups, drawing upon stakeholders' unique perspectives and strengths to collectively design and implement better solutions.

Prior to joining LFA in 2022, Jack worked at the San Francisco Foundation, the Gap Foundation, and two peer consulting firms, Blueprint Research+Design and Arabella Advisors. He has served on a dozen boards, including as founding chair of the Asian Pacific Environmental Network, and currently as Treasurer of Climate Access. Through his professional and community service, Jack has worked on a range of issues such as environmental justice, pre-K-12 and postsecondary education, place-based learning, youth organizing, policy advocacy, strategic communications, leadership development, and diversity, equity and inclusion.

Jack lives in San Francisco with his wife where, as empty nesters, they enjoy the natural and cultural richness of the Bay Area while awaiting the next visits home by their two young adult children.
